Putting Family Medicine on the Political Agenda

Challenge: While the general public view all doctors as high profile citizens, within medicine and public policy, General and Family Practitioners are often the ones who’s budgets are most aggressively targeted for government health care savings.

Solution: Public awareness targeted at thought leaders, decision makers and the chattering classes helped move very negative negotiation issues from the backroom to the front of the political agenda.

Results: The campaign generated significant media interest and reframed much of the dialogue on the government’s negotiations with doctors. The final agreement was met with significant approval by members of General and Family practitioners.
